About Me

I come from Altoona, Pennsylvania, where I have lived for 10 years. In 2015 I plan to graduate with my bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Univerity of Pittsburgh and hopefully find a full time position somewhere in Pittsburgh. While at Pitt, I have had the chance to intern at Emerson Process Management, where I’ve helped on retrofit designs for hydraulic actuators on both nuclear and fossil fuel power plants. My years at Pitt and living in Pittsburgh have been arguably the best years of my life, and have given me some really great experiences. Specifically, I've been able to enjoy many Pirates games, a Steelers game, and a few Penguins games, including game 1 in the second round of the 2013 playoffs. Also, I have gotten the chance to see a few different bands, including The Black Keys, Reel Big Fish, Neon Trees, Donny Iris, and U2. Some of my more personal interests include watching movies, listening to music, and home brewing.

Work Experience

Emerson Process Management: Power & Water Solutions
Engineering Co-op

2013 - present

As a co-op (a rotating internship position), my daily tasks ranged from clerical work to design help. I spent much time working with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD creating and editing 3D models and detail drawings. The group I worked in worked on the mechanical systems that control the steam valve actuators in power plants. Our work consisted of retrofit jobs on both fossil and nuclear power plants internationally.

Napa Auto Parts. Delivery Driver

May 2012 - Aug 2012

As a summer position, I worked primarily as a delivery driver. This was a good first job experience and it taught me a lot about keeping track of time, and working with others. It also provided an experience in learning on the fly, as I had to memorize routes to garages in central Pennsylvania, normally only having one ride-along trip to learn my way around.
